The Label Printing software was developed to be able to print out a wide variety of different style labels using data sourced from the Arrow Financials system. It has very advanced printing techniques to allow the labels to be printed as fast as possible and also allow for batches as well as print the labels required for purchase orders. The system even has it’s own Code-128 and EAN 13 bar-code system built in. Also supports label cutting on label printers such as the Zebra 105 SL.
This database is used to track and control which customers the Sales Representatives visit and record the out comes. Current and possibly new customers are all managed from the Database as well as what order and how often they are visited.
The Product Management Database was created so the staff could centrally manage the information required to create the Columbus Engine Parts Catalogue and the Precision International Website. Even the promotions and events are controlled by this central database. Although its main power comes in the ability to group the companies stock into Parts and then allocate the Parts into Engines and then catalogue which car Make’s and Model’s that engine is used in. Also all the extra information required for the different Make, Models and Engines are also stored in the database.
Columbus was built in Visual Studio .NET 2003 and was originally designed to be distributed to customers via CD. A new install was created every quarter with the current parts and prices. From its first release it became the most popular parts catalogue in the industry and was usually the first place Engine Re-conditioners would use to source their parts.
This program would take the printer .dat files from the Arrow Financial’s Software and read in all the fields and data. Then using this information the program could decided where to send the .dat file and/or even change the data. The Quick Forms program would then pick up the .dat file and print it out with the modified data.
